Today, Ubisoft officially announced the release date for Far Cry 2 in Europe. They also confirmed the Collectors Edition.

Today, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 2 will be released on October 24th throughout all EMEA territories on the 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows® PC.

To celebrate the release of Far Cry® 2, Ubisoft is happy to unveil the Far Cry® 2 Collectors’ Edition that will include:
- Exclusive wooden box
- Original Far Cry® 2 Game
- Limited edition Far Cry® 2 t-shirt
-“The Art of Far Cry® 2” Art book

After yesterday’s fiasco with the infamous RELOADED group cracking Spore before it even came out in the US, it turns out they’ve already cracked Mercenaries 2. Currently, over 3500 people are currently leaching and seeding the game, compared to the 10,000 that were downloading Spore yesterday. Today, Spore has over 30,000 people downloading and sharing the game, up 20,000 people from yesterday.

Although I’m a fan of trying before buying, events like these may further the controversy on PC gaming and piracy.. but hey.. at least they waited until Mercenaries 2 was released, right?

According to Kotaku, the convenience store chain, 7-Eleven, will start offering video games to it’s customers. 7-Eleven started tracking it’s customers and learned that 1 out of every 2 of them owned a game console. Over 3200 7-Eleven stores had considerable sales with Madden, 25% of which took place between midnight and 1 a.m.

7-Eleven will be selling the 7 games with the most potential. The first line-up will include Lich King, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Fallout 3, 007: Quantum of Solace and Gears of War 2. 7-Eleven will release each game at midnight of the release date.

Activision just revealed the Call of Duty: World at War Beta for the XBOX 360 and PC. To register for the beta, you can go to callofduty.com, or by pre-ordering the game from GameStop.

Santa Monica, CA – September 4, 2008 – Boot camp will soon take on a new meaning, as Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch, have confirmed plans for Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas in October for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and separately for download on Windows PC. These betas will serve as an early chance for players to practice the tactics needed for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War’s Pacific and European theaters. Players will experience the game’s new squad system, as well as fan favorite perks and kill streaks.

All preparation for the full battle will commence on November 11, 2008 when Call of Duty: World at War is released to retailers nationwide.

Football Manager 2009 and Football Manager Handheld 2009 Announced

After news of Spore breaking the street date in Australia, we hear that Spore has already been cracked by a group called “RELOADED” despite it’s use of SecuROM, the anti-pirating software. (the same one used in BioShock) There are currently over 10,000 people downloading the game on just one public torrent tracker. All this 4 days before the game even comes out in North America.

If you want to download Spore legally, Direct2Drive is allowing pre-orders of the game.

Apparently, the Mac version of EA’s Spore will require both OS X Leopard, and an Intel chip. While that isn’t that bad, if it were Microsoft doing the same with Vista all hell would break loose. Fortunately, Spore is available for both XP and Vista on the Windows platform. Spore is coming out on September 7 on both platforms in the US.
