According to AustralianGamer, Pandemic Studios Brisbane has been told to cancel their Batman: The Dark Knight project. Pandemic has been working on the project for over a year, and the rumors are that production was canceled because it was coming along too slowly.
Pandemic has officially replied as “no comment” to the claim. Although this is very unfortunate news for the developers, this may mean the Arkham Asylum video game might be the new focus.

The analogy of a corporate suit is that if the game isn’t tied into a movie launch date, or dvd release, then it’s going to fail. The shitty thing is they also believe good games don’t sell themselves unless there’s an overwhelming amount of hype to coincide with the title. This perpetrates short development sessions and strict deadlines soley to launch a title rather then to poslih a blockbuster.
Too bad if this is true…
