According to a “semi-official” announcement on ThreeSpeech.com, LittleBigPlanet will be delayed due to several references to the Qur’an in a music track in the game.
“During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an.”
According to Media Molecule, the lyrics in this track could be offensive to some people. Media Molecule prepared a 0-day patch that would automatically remove or alter the track in question. Sony, however, thought it would be best to replace all existing discs. The new release date has yet to be announced, however, Media Molecule assures us they will do their best to get the project back on track for a timely release.
